On a cycling trip, I pedaled 54 long miles and was expecting to check in but a sign on the door said I needed to go 1.4 miles north to Seeley Lake Motor Lodge to check in. Just what I need-- three more miles. When I got to the other motel (same owners), the office door was locked with a sign "Be back at 3". This was at 9pm. No answer to the night buzzer. I called the phone number for Wilderness I found online and got Seeley Lake voicemail. Was checking my phone for any other place to stay when the owner pulled up and said, "I'm here!" He did give me a discount for the inconvenience, but it was still overpriced for the quality of room.

I manage a hotel myself, so a 1 star rating does not come lightly for me. There are very few lodging options in the area so we took what we could get with regards to accommodations for the night. We had a terrible expierence with, from my understanding, the wife of the owner of the hotel. We have family that has stayed at the property several times in the past and have been able to bring their pet (dog). Suddenly, with no notification when confirming the reservation, they are no longer pet friendly. As I work in the industry, I completely understand this decision. What I was blow away by was this lady's way of handeling the situation. Likely one of the WORST service experiences I have had in my life (which says a lot). Rooms are very small and difficult to navigate due to the space. Bed was not bad (which was shocking). Overall, we wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to the terrible service.

Doesn't get plowed in the winter. Sometimes tv doesn't work
